What’s the difference between the GED & HiSET?
Here are some differences between the GED and HiSET:
Question style
- GED: Multiple choice, fill in the blank, drop-down, select an area and an essay
- HiSET: Multiple-choice and an essay
Scores
- GED: 45% correct to pass
- HiSET: 40% correct to pass
Number of subtests
- GED: Four - Social Studies, Science, Math and Language Arts
- HiSET: Five - Social Studies, Science, Math, Reading and Writing
Both tests cover similar content and are valid high school equivalency credentials. Choose the one that suits you best!
